AbstractAn expansion tube has a unique capability of generating a hypervelocity flow without experiencing a stagnation condition of the test gas. Related to MUSES-C superorbital reentry flow condition, experimental and numerical simulations were conducted in domestic institutions as well as in University of Queensland, Australia. This paper summarizes the characteristics of the facility and results of their investigations.
