AbstractAn aerodynamic control system using movable flaps extending from the primary aeroshell is proposed to broaden a window of successful orbit insertion. Aerodynamic coefficients of the vehicle with and without flaps are measured in JAXA hypersonic wind tunnel. From these values, database of the aerodynamic coefficients with the angle of flaps variations were estimated by fitting equations on the basis of the modified Newton method.
