AbstractSpace agriculture is a concept of engineering to support human life on extraterrestrial sites by biological and ecological system. Target of this engineering is to manage and control materials circulation and energy flow in the system to sustain manned activity safely and confidently on other planet or moon. It is proposed to utilize composting microbial ecology to process metabolic wastes and inedible biomass. Conceptual design of greenhouse dome on extraterrestrial bodies is developed based on humanistic requirements and desire. Space agriculture could be a good testbed to solve the global problem of energy and environment, which is recognized as urgent issues for sustainable civilization on the earth.
