AbstractIt is important for the advance of the microgravity science to find new subjects in which the microgravity condition influences on the physical phenomena. The eutectic liquid mixtures are expected to be the candidates. Already, by using the measurements of the electrical resistivity, rho, the giant growth of concentration fluctuations has been revealed in the homogeneous liquid phase around the eutectic composition of metal-semiconductor and metal-metal mixtures. In the present presentation, the growth of concentration fluctuations for liquid alloys with a few eutectic compositions, Cd-Sb and Zn-Sb systems will be reported. The anomalous behaviors of the temperature coefficient of rho, d rho/dT were found at both eutectic compositions on the isotherm curve of both systems. These also indicate the existence of concentration fluctuations around the eutectic composition in the homogeneous liquid phase. Similar investigation was performed also for the eutectic system of the liquid alloys with ultra low melting temperature and the fused salts. The importance of the growth of concentration fluctuation was stressed. The promising microgravity experiments were also discussed.
