In the case presented here, the external applied magnetic field is parallel to the wire and its strength is about 2000 gauss. Wire explosion circuit is composed of a capacitor of 4 micro-farad charged to between 4 and 5kV which is discharged into a circuit with a ringing period of 16 micro-sec by actuating a triggerable air spark gap. Generally, 0.1mm. in diameter, wires 5cm. long, of copper, tungsten and morybdenum placed across a gap, with two parallel flat iron plates which are connected by magnetic field, are exploded in air at atmospheric temperature and pressure. It is seen from these data that the effects of magnetic field are remarkable on the flow near the wire, and on the discharging current, especially initial state. 内容記述 | When a fine metal wire is burned out explosively by discharging a large condenser through it, a cylindrical brast wave and arc plasma are produced around it. In the case presented here, the external applied magnetic field is parallel to the wire and its strength is about 2000 gauss.
