AbstractHydrophilic microtunnel array was fabricated by thiol microContact Printing (micro CP) on copper surface with Poly Dimethylsiloxane (PDMS) stamps. Using printing circuit board substrates as PDMS stamp master was successfully applied to pattern copper surface with an array of parallel lines of hydrophobic Octadecanethiol (ODT) by micro CP. The results of vapor condensation on the wettability patterned copper surface were shown that numerous liquid droplets nucleate and grow by coalescence with surrounding drops, then the liquids moved from the hydrophobic ODT covered condensation area to the hydrophilic microgroove ones. This type of microtunnel could be adaptable for microgroove of Micro Heat Pipe (MHP).
