To achieve these requirements, MHI developed a flutter analysis tool based on the BCM (Building-Cube Method), which is a next-generation CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) algorithm using an advanced Cartesian mesh method. The BCM has several advantages such as rapid mesh generation, simple data structure for handling complex geometry, adaptive space-time resolution, and easy parallelization with ideal load balance. The developed tool is validated with the NASA ARROW WING model. Computational time is greatly reduced to less than one-third by applying adaptive inner time iteration technique.
