AbstractThe Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has organized and structured a research program which aims at realization of the low-cost ADR. The program consists of an ADR scenario study, key-technology development, and on-orbit servicing technology research and development as straight-forward spin-off of ADR technology toward near-future robotic servicing missions. The key-technology development has three major themes: non-cooperative rendezvous, non-cooperative capture, and deorbiting massive targets. The research program aims to integrate the ADR scenario study and the key-technology development into the technology demonstration mission plan that has technical scalability and can be a seamless step for the future low-cost ADR practical realization. In this presentation, the objectives and overall structure of the research program will be shown, and the way-forward will be discussed.
