内容記述 | This thesis reports on the immersion and slurry-abrasion performance of two aluminum alloys (AA2024 and AA5052) in different chloride salts with compositions similar to anti-icing salt mixtures. Immersion tests followed a 4-week planned interval test protocol were conducted in different anti-icing salt mixtures such as single chloride (sodium chloride, calcium chloride, and magnesium chloride) and mixed chloride (sodium chloride-calcium chloride, sodium chloride-magnesium chloride, and sodium chloride-calcium chloride-magnesium chloride) solutions. Slurry-abrasion tests were conducted in sand + water and sand + salt + water slurries. Electrochemical characterization of three aluminum alloys (AA2024, AA2618, and AA5052) in dilute chloride salts was also conducted. The electrochemical tests were conducted in dilute sodium chloride, calcium chloride, and magnesium chloride solutions. |
