抄録 | Effect of rare-earth ions (Ln(3+)) on structural change of chicken egg white lysozyme (CEWL) in aqueous solution have been investigated by Raman spectroscopy. Changes in specific Raman bands showed that light Ln(3+) ions mainly bind to the side chain (COO(-) group) of Asp and Glu residues. With decreasing ionic radius of Ln(3+) ion, the Ln(3+) ions penetrate in the interior of lysozyme and induce disruption of β-sheet structure and formation of α-helix structure. Thus, this means that the Ln(3+) ions have an ionic selectivity for structural stability of proteins. |
