抄録 | This paper investigates the characteristics of wave propagation modes on a conductor in high frequencies when a pulse-like voltage is applied to the sending end, based on a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method of a numerical electromagnetic analysis. It is found that transition of the wave propagation mode between TEM and TM occurs at the sending and receiving ends on an insulated conductor of which the relative permittivity epsilon(sub i) of the insulator is different from that of air, i.e. epsilon(sub i) does not equal to 1, while only the TEM mode appears in the in the middle of the conductor. The transition is dependent on the distance from the conductor center. |
