抄録 | A basic study for the high speed combustion system of supersonic jet engine was adopted as a 2011 special research subject of the National Defense Academy to clarify the requirements for shrinking the length and miniaturizing the volume of its burner. This report was drawn up on the basis of this study. This research work was experimentally conducted by designing and producing a test apparatus composed of a square fuel injection orifice filled with porous metal and a finite-width thin wedge simulating flame-holder in typical RAM combustor of the next-generation jet engine. The spatial density gradient between fuel and air was measured to understand the mixing process using the Schlieren optical visualization system. The result data confirmed good performance of this original burner concept for the mixing enhancement of fuel with a relatively large mass flow-rate. |
