A search for cool carbon stars. 7: Vulpecula (l around 60 deg) region

Abstract

A search for cool carbon stars has been consecutively made using the 4 degree prism spectra of the Kiso observatory 105 cm Schmidt telescope. The surveyed area in this research is the 230-square degree area in the Vulpecula (l approximately equal to 60 deg) region. 185 carbon stars were detected on the prism plates, and the celestial position, V magnitude, and the finding chart of them derived from V-band plates are presented. Among detected carbon stars in the list, 120 stars and 82 stars are respectively identified with Stepheson's (1989) carbon stars and with IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Satellite) point sources catalog. The distribution and the variability of these objects are briefly discussed.

4度のプリズム分光器を取りつけた木曾観測所の口径105cmシュミット望遠鏡を用いて、低温の炭素星の探査を引き続き行った。本研究で探査されているのは、こぎつね座(銀径約60度)の230平方度に及ぶ領域である。プリズム面上には185個の炭素星が発見され、天体の位置、V等級、そしてVバンドの観測結果に基づく天体の認識表を示した。確認された炭素星のリストの中で、120個はステファソン(1989)の中で炭素星と同定されたもので、82個はIRAS(赤外線天文衛星)のポイントソースカタログの中で同定されたものであった。これらの天体の分布と変光の状況に関しても、簡単に述べた。
