抄録 | Ceramics Matrix Composite (CMC) is an advanced material that has low density and high temperature capability. Application of CMC to turbine components is expected to reduce the weight and the fuel consumption of aircraft jet engine. Research and development was conducted to apply this material to the turbine shroud and vane. Coating technology was developed to protect the CMC shroud from high temperature main gas flow. These CMC shrouds were installed in an engine demonstration test at turbine inlet temperature 1,923 K. A manufacturing process for the CMC vane was developed. Burner rig test for the airfoil section was conducted to estimate the thermal cycle durability of the CMC vane. |
