Observation support system

Abstract

In the Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) network of the Key Stone Project (KSP), every system is automatically controlled by computers located at the central station using the computer network, and the systems at the remote stations are usually unmanned. Operation manuals for routine operation, trouble shooting, and extraordinary operations were therefore developed and written in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) format, making it possible for an operator with no special knowledge about the system to refer to the manuals using a browser installed on a notebook computer or a work station at a remote station.

首都圏広域地殻変動観測プロジェクト(KSP)のVLBI(超長基線電波干渉)ネットワークでは、各システムが中央ステーションに設置したコンピュータによりコンピュータ・ネットワークを用いて自動制御され、また遠隔観測所にあるシステムは通常無人運転である。日常運転、故障修理、臨時運転に対する操作マニュアルを作成して、HTML(ハイパーテキスト・マークアップ言語)形式で書き込み、システムについて特別な知識を持たないオペレータが、遠隔観測所においてノートブック型コンピュータあるいはワークステーション上に組み込んだブラウザを使って、マニュアルを参照できるようにした。
