| 内容記述 | The floating potential, relative to the space plasma, of large satellites proposed for future missions is an important factor in the current balance between the plasma particle collection of biased surfaces and exposed conductors. To solve this balance, a knowledge of the plasma current collection processes is required. One of the unknowns in these relationships is the current collection of large areas of conducting surfaces. Only limited experimental data is available on this collection process. Data from one of the few available tests is used herein to verify the applicability of a plasma collection model for large surfaces. The model is then applied to determine the floating potential of the NASA Space Station. |
