| 内容記述 | Pioneer Venus (PV) altimeter data have been analyzed in order to study tectonic, volcanic, and degradational processes on Venus. Analysis of a corrected reflectivity data set in combination with the PV data indicates that no more than 5 percent of the Venusian surface is covered by soils more than several to tens of cm in depth. It is suggested that most regions of apparent low reflectivity are due to the presence of small roughness elements on the surface. These regions are correlated with tessera, and models show that the diffuse scatterers in the tessera are rock fragments originating as part of tectonic deformation of the surface. |
