| 内容記述 | Very strong, narrow Lyman alpha emission (equivalent width approximately 1000 angstroms) has been discovered in the redshifted ultraviolet spectra of three radio galaxies having z between 1.62 and 1.82. The three are 3C 256, 3C 239, and 3C 241. It is noted that Lyman alpha will probably be a very useful redshift and classification determinant in future spectroscopic surveys of active galaxies at still greater distances. |
