Inclusive K(sup 0)(sub s) production in two photon processes

Abstract

Cross section measurement for inclusive K(sup 0)(sub s) production is presented in almost real photon-photon interactions at TRISTAN using the AMY detector. The data sample corresponds to the integrated luminosity of 179 pb(exp -1) at the center of mass energy of 58 GeV. The results are compared with the theoretical predictions of the sum of the VMD (Vector Meson Dominance model), the direct process, and the resolved photon processes. Forty to fifty percent larger cross section than the predictions was observed. The excess is within 1.6 to 1.9 sigma so that the data is consistent with the predictions.

TRISTANのAMY検出器を用いて行った準実光子・光子相互作用における包括的Ks(0)粒子生成の断面積測定を説明した。データ試料は、重心系エネルギー58GeVで、積分ルミノシティ179pb{-1}に対応する。得られた結果を、VMD(ベクトル中間子支配模型)、直接過程、および分解光子過程の和からなる理論的予測と比較した。予測より40から50%大きな断面積を観測した。過剰は1.6から1.9σの範囲の中であり、データは予測と一致した。
