Properties of HII regions in a sample of spiral galaxies

Abstract

In this poster, statistical properties of a sample of HII regions in the spiral galaxies NGC 4254, NGC 4321, NGC 5194, NGC 5248, NGC 5350 and NGC 6951 are presented. Catalogues of HII regions have been constructed using H-alpha and H-beta line images. In these catalogues, the present authors show H-alpha fluxes corrected for extinction, H-beta fluxes corrected for stellar absorption and extinction, H-alpha & H-beta equivalent widths and the isophotal area in each region. The H-alpha luminosity-volume relation has been studied for the data corrected for extinction and for the raw data. The luminosity functions and the age (using H-beta equivalent width) have also been obtained for each region.

このポスタでは、渦巻き銀河NGC4254、NGC4321、NGC5194、NGC5248、NGC5350、およびNGC6951のHII(電離水素)領域の統計的性質について発表する。Hα線およびHβ線を用いて、HII領域のカタログを作成した。このカタログに、減光補正をしたHα線の流束、恒星吸収および減光補正をしたHβ線の強度、Hα線とHβ線の等価幅および各領域の等輝度域を掲載した。減光補正をしたものと生データについて、Hα光度と体積の関係を調べた。また、光度関数およびHβ線の等価幅に基づく年齢を、それぞれの領域について求めた。
