| 内容記述 | An instrument to measure atmospheric pressure at the Earth's surface from an orbiting satellite is considered. Surface pressure can be deduced from measurements of the transmission of an atmospheric column at several frequencies at the edges of the 60 GHz oxygen absorption band. An active microwave instrument proposed to make these measurements is the subject of a joint UK-US development program to demonstrate its capabilities. The results of an extensive analysis of the potential performance of the instrument are summarized. |
