The procedure utilizes the precision inherent in fringe phase measurements. Eleven separate experiments were conducted to measure the 1.24-km base line vector between the two antennas of the Haystack Observatory in Westford, Mass. The repeatability, scatter, and level of accuracy are discussed. |
