AbstractNASDA has developed the electrostatic levitation furnace for the structure analysis of liquids. Following the success of 'cold' experiment in the last year by using an alumina sphere, the 'hot' experiment was performed in this year. The neutron diffraction experiment was performed for a liquid Zr sphere at 2,500 K. The levitated state was kept for eight hours. In quite near future, a neutron diffraction experiment with much more intensities is to be performed.
