抄録 | A Japanese program for the development of coherent Doppler lidar from space was started by the CRL from FY 1997 under the support of the Phase 2 Studies of NASDA' Ground Research Announcement. The objective of the program is to carry out a feasibility study on coherent Doppler lidar to be installed in the Japanese Exposed Module (JEM), part of the International Space Station (ISS). The ISS/JEM-borne coherent Doppler lidar device is expected to measure tropospheric line-of-sight (LOS) winds from space to an accuracy to an accuracy to 1 to 2 m/s with a vertical resolution of about 1 km and a horizontal resolution of 100 km x 100 km. |
