内容記述 | It would appear that over the next few years general diagnostic space exploration by satellite-borne conventional sensors will be well on its way under the sponsorship of many nations. It is the objective of this paper to review two new sensor developments and an application program. The first sensor (the photopolarimeter) makes use of polarized light to determine unique signatures ranging from aerosols to signatures for surface moisture. The second sensor (the correlation interferometer) makes use of absorption spectroscopy to detect anomalous gas concentrations and will be used to explore the CO sink problem, significant in pollution. In the applications area, some demonstration experiments in the general area of space processing, scheduled for the remaining Apollo flights, are described. If successfull, these experiments will give some indication of typical products which could be produced cost effectively in space. |
