内容記述 | The change of signal intensity is examined as a function of F2-region disturbances and magnetic activity from recordings of the Moscow transmitter at Murmansk, Magadan, and Irkutsk. The transmitter operated around the clock at definite periods using directional antennas at 10 fixed frequencies from 1.5 to 24 MHz. It is shown that under quiet and disturbed conditions the highest signal intensities are observed at frequencies 10 to 30% below the MUF. During disturbances the signal intensity decreases at all points, and most markedly when magnetic and ionospheric disturbances are observed simultaneously. Communications are disrupted in the case of large reduction of foF2 accompanied by high magnetic activity. |
