Abstract

Following topics on Mid-Atlantic Ridge WMARK area, TAG area, East Pacific Rise, and Japanese Waters are discussed: geomagnetic vector field observation, gravity anomalies, density structure of basement rocks, oceanic lower crust and upper mantle materials, active tectonics, floor slumpings, hydrothermal activity, crustal deformation, chemosynthetic ecosystem, calyptogena and vestimentiferans, calcareous nannoflora and biostratigraphy, pleurotomariidae, cnidarian communities, seismo-induced fissure and liquefaction, sediment fatty acids, and benthic organisms, others.
