抄録 | Ru-99 Moessbauer spectroscopy and magnetization studies have been made on anhydrous ruthenium trichlorides, black alpha-RuCl3 and brown beta-RuCl3. The Ru-99 Moessbauer spectrum of alpha-RuCl3 exhibits large hyperfine magnetic splitting at 5 K with a magnitude of the hyperfine magnetic field of 209 kOe, while that of beta-RuCl3 shows an electric quadrupole interaction with no hyperfine magnetic one. The conspicuous difference in the magnetic properties between the two forms is attributable to their crystal structures. |
