ケフェウス座VV星とその偏光測光観測

Abstract

ケフェウス座VV星の星周圏ガスやダストの様子およびそれらの振る舞いを調べる手がかりとして偏光測光観測を行った。観測は国立天文台堂平観測所の91cm反射望遠鏡に取り付けられた多色測光偏光装置および約3,500?8,000オングストロームの波長域をカバーする8本の光電子増倍管を用いた同時観測可能な測光器を用いて行った。それにより次のような結果を得た。(1)偏光度には右下がりの波長依存が見られた。(2)偏光位置角は観測期間中明確な波長依存は見られなかった。(3)規格化されたストークスのパラメータQは右下がりの波長依存性が見られた。(4)規格化されたストークスのパラメータUにも波長依存性が見られた。

Polarimetric and photometric observations were carried out to study aspects and behavior of the circumstellar gas and dust of VV Cepheus. Observations were performed by using a multi channel polarimeter attached to the 91 cm reflecting telescope of National Astronomical Observatory Dodaira Observatory and a photometer capable of observing concurrently with 8 photomultiplier tubes, covering wavelength in the range of 3,500 to 8,000 angstrom. The following results were obtained: (1) degree of polarization showed downward sloping dependency on the wavelength; (2) polarization angle did not show any specific wavelength dependence during the observation period; (3) the normalized Stokes' parameter Q showed downward sloping dependence on the wavelength; and (4) The normalized Stokes' parameter U showed the wavelength dependence as well.
