抄録 | An experimental study of the deflection of magnetically driven flows over ripple-marked topography in shallow salt water is presented. The unidirectional flows are driven by electromagnetic forces at an angle of incidence to the parallel straight ridges of the ripple marks. The main feature of the flows is their deflection from the direction of the driving in response to the existing ripple marks. The maximum angle of deflection of the flows in the present experimental setup is observed to reach about 11 degrees. The formation of a double vortex core and its detailed structure are also discussed. |
