抄録 | To investigate the vertical profiles and latitudinal distributions of Be-7 (T(sub 1/2) = 53.3 day) and Be-10 (T(sub 1/2) = 1.5 x 10(exp 6) y) in the eastern Pacific Ocean, seawater samples from 6 m to 500 m depth at 10 stations and 33 surface water samples were collected during the R/V Hakuho-Maru KH03-1 cruise from June to September 2003. Based on the Be-7 and Be-10 concentrations in the surface layer, the mean residence times for Be isotopes were estimated to be 1 to 20 years, and the Be-7 and Be-10 fluxes across the ocean surface ware estimated to be 0.01 to 0.06 and 0.01 to 0.09 atoms cm(sup -2) sec(sup -1), respectively. |
